• Our Commitments

  • Our Ethos

Doing the right thing and acting responsibly is a big part of who we are at Aril Jewels.  We belive that stunning jewellery shouldn't cost the earth.

We choose to only work with a few select, trusted suppliers to ensure that your jewel has been created in the best way possible, not only in terms of quality, but also in terms of its impact on the world.

    Beautiful Gems

We are privileged to work with Earth's most beautiful treasures so naturally we want to protect this amazing planet we call home. Sourcing our gems from only trusted suppliers, we ensure they always do their very best to conform to the following principles:

    • The gem has been purchased from legitimate sources
    • The gem has been extracted from conflict-free regions
    • The trade of the gem has not funded any conflict

Wherever possible, we pick gems from sources where artisinal mining is the norm, as this often has the lowest impact on the environment and creates a livelihood for  local communities.

Aril Jewels pieces are only created with natural gems, not synthetic, and are untreated or free from enhancements unless otherwise stated. The only two exceptions to this are heat treatment of sapphires, rubies and tanzanite, and oiling of emeralds, as both of these treatments are common practice in the jewellery trade for their respective gemstones. We will indicate only where these gems are either unheated or without oil. Please do get in touch if you have any questions or would like more information.

    Stunning Diamonds

Chloë very carefully selects each natural diamond that goes into an Aril Jewels piece, ensuring that every stone sparkles beautifully. Similarly to our coloured gems, we only use a small number of trusted suppliers who agree with our principles and can demonstrate they:

    • Confirm all diamonds supplied have been sufficiently tested to be natural, not synthetic, and are untreated or free from enhancements unless otherwise stated.
    • Adhere to the Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) and the World Diamond Council system for warranties.
    • Purchase from legitimate sources.
    • Ensure purchases are not funding conflict and are in compliance with UN Resolutions.
We particularly love using antique old cut diamonds in Aril Jewels pieces and the majority of our collection pieces have been made with these unique stones. Each antique old cut diamond has been recycled from an antique piece of jewellery and many were mined well over a hundred years ago. By using old cut diamonds we are giving these wonderful stones another chance to be loved and we love that they are also uniquely beautiful with much more character (having been cut by hand before modern technology came along).

    Talented Ateliers

Designing and making jewellery to stand the test of time is at the very core of what we do. At Aril Jewels, we're particularly inspired by historical styles and techniques that can only be done by hand by exceptionally skilled goldsmiths, stone setters and polishers. That's why all of our jewellery is handmade in London by ateliers specialising in, and preserving, these age-old skills. We know all of our craftsmen and women personally and check in as each piece is being made to ensure every detail is perfect. Wherever possible we use 100% recyled gold in our pieces and ensure that any fresh metal is sourced responsibly and that the suppliers comply with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas Supplement on Gold. All of our jewellery is hallmarked in London with our Aril sponsor's mark. To find out more about hallmarking have a look at this video from the London Assay Office: Look for the Hallmark, It's Your Guarantee. We also became a member of the Created in the UK scheme in July 2023, which is an audited scheme created by the National Association of Jewellers.
