Seth knew Cassandra would want a classic design for her engagement ring but loved the idea of a more characterful diamond and unusual style. We took inspiration from a beautiful Georgian Solitaire button ring Seth had seen in a book. Sourcing a stunning old mine cut diamond, most likely cut by hand in the early 1800s, we chose platinum rather than silver for the traditional Georgian cut down setting to modernise and brighten this antique look. Also, rather than the closed back setting, which is not so practical for an active modern woman, we designed a beautiful, hand-pierced back which allows the diamond to be cleaned and adds detail. We also made this old design wedding band friendly, so that when they got married, the wedding ring fit perfectly alongside.
